Bulky Item Collection at Annual Residential Dump Days

In an effort to curb illegal dumping and help residents with Spring clean-ups Waste Management is hosting their annual Virginia City Residential Dump Days, Thursday, May 3 through Saturday, May 5.

The event will take place during regular business hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Closed for lunch 12:00 pm – 12:30)

This event will take place only at the Waste Management transfer station in Virginia City at the end of Washington Street and R Street.

Materials commonly associated with illegal dumping will be accepted at no charge, including most household appliances (coolant-free refrigerators, hot water heaters, stoves, dishwashers and washers/dryers) as well as bulky waste such as sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs.

The free disposal for specific items during Residential Dump Days is the result of a partnership between Storey County and Waste Management. The event is open to residential customers only.
