In November of 2015, Jeff will have completed his 20th year of career fire service. During Jeff’s twelve plus years in the department, he served a Firefighter, Captain, and Assistant Chief along with Sergeant at Arms and Secretary.

After graduating from Virginia City High School, Jeff was employed by the Nevada Division of Forestry as a Seasonal Firefighter for two and a half seasons stationed in Jacks Valley, Galena, and the Virginia City Highlands. During the winter months, he worked as a Relief Firefighter for Storey County Fire Department. In November 1995, he was hired as a full time Firefighter for Storey County.

In July of 1996, Jeff accepted a position as a Firefighter II for the Nevada Division of Forestry stationed in Jacks Valley and later in Verdi. During this time, he was promoted to Fire Captain, assigned to Safety and Training. In 2006, Washoe County took over fire protection in the county, and the district became Sierra Fire Protection District. In 2012, Sierra Fire was consolidated with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District.

In April 2013, Jeff had the opportunity to return to where he started his career as a Battalion Chief with the Storey County Fire Protection District.
