In November 2012, Judge Herrington was elected Justice of the Peace for Storey County, and on January 7, 2013, she began her duties on the bench.

Prior to Judge Herrington’s term, she served as Paralegal to the Storey County District Attorney for over 15 years. During her service, she was a member of the Criminal Justice Committee and the Education Committee of the Nevada Council for the Prevention of Domestic Violence. She established the Storey County Victim Services Unit and is the 2011 recipient of the Bringing Respect and Honor to Victims Award for Outstanding Criminal Justice Unit, Alliance for Victims Rights.

Judge Herrington and her husband chose to raise and educate their six children here in Storey County. Their children now enjoy successful careers throughout the world. Being family-focused, the Herringtons spend most of their spare time visiting children and spoiling grandchildren.

Judge Herrington and her husband are deeply committed to their community. Long-time 4-H leader, Judge Herrington is the recipient of the 2013 4-H Hall of Fame Award in Nevada.

Judge Herrington serves as Vice Chair of the Judicial Council of the State of Nevada Technology Committee. She is also a member of the Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction Association, Sierra Judicial Council, and American Judges Association.  She received her Certificate in Judicial Development, Special Court Trial Skills, from the National Judicial College, University of Nevada, Reno, in May 2016.
