Recorded Documents

To obtain a copy of a recorded document, please email us, give us a call, use the forms below, or make your request in person at the Recorder's Office:

Marriage Certified Copies

Locate the certificate by using the online search or by calling our office. Images of marriage certificates recorded after 1974 are not available online; however, indexed information is retrievable if Storey County issued the marriage license and the certificate was presented to the County Recorder for recordation. If you applied for your license in another Nevada county, please contact that county for a certified copy.

Search marriages

Certified copies are $15.00 each.  Three options are available to order a certified copy:

1) In person at our office. We are located on the 2nd floor of the Storey County Courthouse.

2) Via mail or fax at (775) 847-1009 using our Request for Marriage Record form. If mailing, please address to PO Box 493, Virginia City, NV 89440. 

3) Via phone at (775) 847-0967 using a credit card. A transaction fee of $2.00 is charged by the processing party on all credit card orders under $80 (see the full fee schedule here). Once payment is received, we will process the request and mail the certified copy to you.

*Copies are sent via regular mail. For expedited delivery, please send a prepaid envelope with your request.
