County Clerk

The County Clerk's responsibilities include maintaining vital records and the voters' registration system. The County Clerk conducts all elections held in the county. The County Clerk processes Marriage License applications, manages the recording of commission minutes, ordinances, contracts and other related documents, and the administration of oaths.

District Court

The County Clerk serves as the clerk to the District Court. The Storey County District Court has general jurisdiction over all legal disputes. This is the court where criminal, civil, family, and juvenile matters are generally resolved through arbitration, mediation, and bench or jury trials. The judges also hear appeals from Justice Court cases.

Treasurer

The Storey County Treasurer is the receiving agent for the county and oversees receipt of all public funds for:

  • The County of Storey
  • Storey County School District
  • The State of Nevada
  • Other taxing entities within Storey County

The Treasurer collects and processes over 4,700 tax bills each year. The Treasurer also serves as the county’s investment officer by investing public funds.

DMV Services

The Storey County Clerk's Office provides basic Vehicle Registration and Titling Services for Storey County Residents only. The Clerk's Office IS NOT a full service DMV outlet. The Clerk is authorized on a contract basis by the State but all services are funded by Storey County taxpayers. Contact an official DMV office for more information or go to dmv.nv.gov .
