The Storey County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for business license applications and renewals for:

• Alarms
• Brothels
• Businesses requiring liquor or gaming licenses
• Childcare businesses
• Door to door
• Escort
• Establishments that serve alcohol
• Utilities

All other Business License Applications/Renewals are handled through the Business Licenses Department. You must obtain a business license from Storey County if you are conducting business, or if your business is based in Storey County.

A license is required for each location of business and is not transferable to another individual. Licenses are transferable when there is a change of ownership, business location, or trade name.
