SRO Division & Community Involvement

As part of our civic duty, Storey County Sheriff’s Office maintains active participation within the school system and the general community. For instance, our deputies:

  • Cosponsor social activities
  • Make school visits
  • Participate in youth athletic activities
  • Serve as mentors and informal counselors
  • Take enforcement action as needed

The Storey County Sheriff's Office operates a School Resource Officer division. Our School Resource Officers (SROs) have attended specialized training and hold certifications with the National Association of School Resource Offiers (NASRO). Our SROs are also members of the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT).
