Citations & Warrants

Nevada Revised Statutes grants county Sheriff Offices the authority to enforce, through the issuance of citations and such other means as permitted by state law, the provisions of any state or local statutory or regulatory provision governing criminal activity and vehicle or traffic safety.

The Storey County Sheriff’s Office makes arrests of individuals with court-issued warrants. Warrants span a range of infractions from failure to pay court-mandated child support to larceny and theft.

Community Service

An offender convicted of an offense not warranting imprisonment may be sentenced to community service. A community service sentencing depends upon the offender's consent and if a sponsor is available to supervise the offender and provide appropriate work. The Storey County Justice of the Peace oversees all community service sentencing.
